Joe's Kansas City BBQ
Check out the menu at Joe's Kansas City BBQ (formerly Oklahoma Joe's), located just 5 minutes from the dealership. In March 2005, owners Jeff and Joy opened a second location, right here in Olathe. In 2007, the company also opened The Kansas City BBQ Store, a retail barbecue supply store, nearby the Olathe restaurant. Joe's BBQ was voted "Best Southern BBQ" by USA Today.
Professional Sports
The Kansas City Metro area has a long history of sports, which has included National Championship teams, and World Championships. Kansas City is home to the NFL's Kansas City Cheifs, Major League Soccer's Sporting KC, as well as the MLB's up and coming Kansas City Royals. Check out the Sprint Center arena, where the city hopes to land another major sports franchise. Kansas City is a sports town through and through.
Local Ride Destinations
The Glacial Hills Scenic Byway gets its name from the rolling hills and rock-strewn valleys carved by ancient glaciers. The receding ice left behind a beautiful landscape and highly fertile farmland. The Glacial Hills region also includes one of the most famous Pony Express routes as well as Fort Leavenworth, the oldest Army post in continuous existence west of the Missouri River. Abraham Lincoln delivered one of his most famous campaign speeches in the area in 1859, and years later people would watch Atchison resident Amelia Earhart grow up to be a renowned aviator.
NASCAR
Only 10 minutes away from the dealership is Kansas City Motor Speedway. Kansas City Speedway is a 1.5 mile tri-oval race track that was built in 2001. It currently hosts two annual Nascar race weekends. Kansas Speedway becomes the 6th largest city in Kansas on NASCAR race weekends. The speedway also hosts annual music festivals, and is home to the Hollywood Casino.
